Stained Glass
I hope the week has been going well for all of you. I came across the following quote by Elizabeth Kubler Ross today as I was pondering what I would write as a welcome letter and journal exercise for this newsletter.
"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within."
Elizabeth's statement has touched me so much. I have corresponded with her for a few times and I felt as if she was speaking directly to me. I kept reading it over and over again to myself. I reflected on all the happenings in my life these past few weeks.
I startled myself when I became aware that darkness had set in deep within me. The darkness was my response to the many different experiences that were occurring in my life. I became annoyed with myself for letting these experiences rule my life: my thoughts, my actions, my attitude and so much more. I had not let my own true beauty come through for me.
I am laughing now as I write this, because it has helped me to get in touch with my trust and faith in that higher source that we are all from. I feel as if a veil has been lifted and I am viewing the light once again. Actually it feels like a solid block of steel has been lifted.
It is from within my heart that I share this experience. The moment I read this quote, everything seemed lighter and my optimistic attitude has filled me once again with loving thoughts. All of a sudden everything appears to be flowing perfectly and beautifully. Remember your light from deep within your own being .Blessings to you.
