Christmas is upon us. What exactly does it mean for a caregiver to “get ready for Christmas?” It means preparing your heart and your mind for a time that, although used to be full of excitement and anticipation, is now perhaps thankful for the existent life of a loved one. It also may mean that we have to face the
fact that the salvation of God, or your higher power, has promised to be already here and you only need to open your eyes and your heart to see it.

The Bible says that Jesus is the answer. If that is so, then what is the question? Perhaps you are asking the eternal question of “what am I looking for in life?” You’ve tried everything you know, and you’re still not
happy. You still can’t come to terms with the illness of a love one. Or the eternal care of a loved one. Jesus, or your Higher Power, should be the answer because this fills the emptiness and the longing in your heart.
Christmas is truly all about filling empty places. He filled a manger. He also should fill your heart with answers to all of the unknown and unanswered questions that trouble you from day to day. If Christmas means nothing else, bring your problems to your higher power this week. Lay them at the feet of the one who guides us. Pray for the One who will fulfill the promises. And watch for the miracles to happen.
